Save the Fish - Work in Progress
When coming up with a concept for a final project, I was inspired by an environment literature class last semester. I created this body of work to convey a message to save the fish. I believe the world tends to downplay what is going on with them and it is one of the issues that we cannot ignore as it could lead to a dangerous chain reaction to our world. I want people to be more aware of what fish deal within their homes. In the summer, I plan to continue expanding this project as an environmental campaign. I will continue to make different deliverables based on the posters I have made.
One project focuses on illustrations through an accordion-style book. The brighter blue side is what I want for them to continue their life as bright as it can be. Meanwhile the darker blue is what they have to constantly deal with such as fishing, pollution, and destruction of their habitats. I created this show to show the realities of what millions of fish suffer through with every single minute but I also want to express that they can have the happiest homes. The second part of the project has three posters which two of them are huge to bring emphasis to them. One features fish descending to the bottom of these vibrant waters which the fish are made out of plastics and cans. The other has fish trapped within the nets and the multiple uses of the word “pain” is shaped into a fish to show what they feel from being in there. Lastly, I used the words SAVE THEM with bright colors to bring attention and have reefs inside the words. The last project has hand made plushies and garbage that have been entangled in a net.
